Position: Open Rank Faculty, Leukemia

The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Virginia, seeks candidates for a clinical faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/or Full Professor level, with a subspecialty focus on leukemia and bone marrow failure disorders as a clinician/investigator. Clinical track, rank, and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications.

The successful candidate will strengthen the clinical and research efforts in leukemia, utilizing the excellent translational research opportunities and resources available at the University. The incumbent will attend inpatient and outpatient services, participate in multidisciplinary team care, and engage in clinical research within the Cancer Center, serving a growing patient population with leukemia and marrow failure disorders. Additionally, the faculty member will actively participate in teaching fellows, residents, and medical students, supporting the educational mission.

This position is designed for physicians committed to clinical investigation and providing outstanding clinical care, with active participation in education.

Qualifications
  • Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be board-certified or board-eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology by the start date.
  • Dual certification in Medical Oncology and Hematology is encouraged but not required.
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine is required if not certified in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology by the start date.
  • Evidence of expertise in caring for patients with leukemia and marrow failure disorders is required.

The successful candidate will pass a background check and pre-employment health and drug screening.
