Clinical Director – Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia School of Medicine seeks an MD, MD/PhD or equivalently trained physician to serve as Clinical Director for Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular therapy, joining our growing Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and to lead development of the clinical program in partnership with division, department and institutional leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development and oversight of the pediatric stem cell transplant and cellular therapy clinical program, coordinating with division and institutional leadership.
  • Provide both outpatient and inpatient care for patients undergoing autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplants, CAR T cell infusions, and associated toxicities.
  • Serve as a teacher and mentor to learners, fostering a culture of education and clinical excellence.
  • Participate in clinical/translational research and support the program’s pursuit of FACT accreditation.
  • Engage with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff to deliver compassionate, high‑quality care.
Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree, board‑certified or board‑eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
  • Deep clinical expertise in autologous and allogeneic stem cellplants, CAR T cell infusions and associated toxicities.
  • Demonstrated experience in program development toward FACT accreditation.
  • Strong clinical skills, ability to connect with children, families, and staff.
  • Experience in clinical/translational research and mentorship of learners.
