Position Overview
The Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Virginia seeks candidates for a tenure‑eligible Open Rank (Assistant, Associate, Professor) faculty member to join a team of experienced general and transplant hepatology Gastroenterology physicians at the University Medical Center. The incumbent will have a commitment to clinical care, trainee and student education, and scholarly activity. Rank and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications.
Responsibilities- Manage patients in clinic
- Perform routine endoscopic procedures
- Attend on inpatient hepatology consult GI service
- Participate in ongoing clinical research
- Assist with teaching of fellows and residents
- MD or equivalent degree
- ABIM board‑eligible or board‑certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology by appointment start date
- University will perform background checks and a health/drug screen on all new hires prior to employment
