Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Open Rank Faculty, Interventional Endoscopy

The Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks candidates for a tenure‑eligible Open Rank (Assistant, Associate, Professor) faculty position to join a team of experienced Advanced Endoscopy and Gastroenterology physicians at the UVA Medical Center. The incumbent will have a commitment to clinical care, education and scholarly activity. Advanced endoscopy fellowship training is required as is a skill set including complex therapeutic ERCP, diagnostic EUS, EMR, and luminal dilation/stenting.

Expertise in third‑space endoscopy, interventional pancreatobiliary EUS, endohepatology, and/or metabolic endoscopy would be desirable.

The incumbent will be expected to manage patients in clinic, perform routine and advanced endoscopic procedures including ERCP, EUS, EMR and endoluminal stenting, attend on the inpatient GI service, and take general and ERCP/advanced endoscopy call. Expectations also include developing original clinical research, and assisting with the teaching of advanced endoscopy fellows, GI fellows, residents and medical students. Rank is dependent upon qualifications and contingent on School of Medicine review and approval.

Our nationally‑recognized Division is expanding its research portfolio. We expect candidates to have extramural funding or possess qualifications/a track record that would make them competitive for future funding. The University of Virginia has great opportunity for collaboration across grounds and support for career development with intramural funding opportunities.

Qualifiations

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree and must be ABIM board‑certified in Gastroenterology by the appointment start date. Candidates need to be a U.S. Citizen or have U.S. Permanent Resident status.
