Position SummaryInstruct and facilitate meaningful learning of the course outcomes. Provide education through learning‑centered instruction that enables graduates to fulfill evolving marketplace needs. Encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility, respect, diversity, and ethics. This campus‑based position requires 1–2 days per week, 6–8 hours per day. The duties provide an environment conducive to innovation, positive thinking, and academic excellence.
Key Job Elements- Manage the educational process to ensure every student is involved in a positive educational experience.
- Perform faculty responsibilities as outlined in the faculty job description and the South University Employee Handbook.
- Provide course instruction aligned with the South University curricula model.
- Design and deliver instruction through instructional plans that meet course outcomes.
- Effectively utilize technology in the classroom to support student learning.
- Enable achievement of predefined outcomes for student achievement and evaluation of learning.
- Deliver learning‑centered instruction by establishing an educational environment conducive to learning.
- Promote student success with flexibility, passion, and student engagement.
- Manage the educational environment by keeping accurate records, submitting grades, and enforcing academic policies.
- Relate professional experience to learning and stay current with industry trends.
- Participate in faculty development for learner‑centered instruction.
- Communicate consistently and effectively with supervisors, faculty, and administrators.
- Contribute to learning culture through curriculum task forces and campus events.
- Doctorate preferred; master's degree required in the teaching discipline.
- Experience in Med‑Surg or nursing education preferred.
- Experience in instruction or formalized education, preferably post‑secondary or college.
- Membership in a professional association related to the area of instruction preferred.
- Active, valid, and unencumbered state licensure or certification as applicable.
- Ability to be available 1–2 days per week, 6–8 hours per day.
The work environment includes regular communication in person, over the phone, via email, and other electronic means; mobility around the office or school; handling various types of media and equipment; and visual or other assessment skills.
