Job SummaryThe Coordinator serves as a liaison with area business and industry to identify educational and training needs, develop customized training solutions, and oversee credential and short‑course programs. Reports directly to the Dean of Workforce Development.
Position Responsibilities- Communicates with local business and industry representatives to identify educational and training opportunities, including presentations, workshops, and client meetings.
- Develops and coordinates delivery of customized training courses and programs for area business and industry.
- Represents the college with chambers of commerce, economic development entities, jurisdictional organizations, educational partners, and civic groups.
- Coordinates delivery of VHCC Workforce programs, including promotion, scheduling, and administration of publicly funded (Fast Forward) programs.
- Sets up classroom or training environments as needed, including computers, textbooks, consumables, and instructional technology.
- Participates in the department's operational administration, including reports, contracts, budget, and scheduling.
- Interprets and implements state and local policies relating to workforce development.
- Performs other relevant duties as assigned by the Dean.
- Associate's degree from an accredited institution.
- 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a business discipline such as manufacturing, energy, financial services, health care, transportation, or technology.
- Demonstrated skill in product/service development, marketing, delivery, or customer service.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, management, and organizational skills, including proficiency in written and oral communication.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial management, such as budgeting, cost modeling, or accounting.
- Experience in a corporate training environment.
- Experience in workforce or economic development.
