Teacher's Aide; Part-Time

Calvary Adventist School is seeking a Teacher's Aide to assist teachers with day-to-day school operations, such as planning and implementing educational activities, supervision, and teaching of children in a classroom setting; also assists in presenting and reinforcing learning concepts.

• Provides support to the teacher to ensure a safe and stimulating educational environment.
• Assists children, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
• Observes and monitors student activities in classroom and non-classroom settings
• Conducts learning exercises with children; may confer with parents on children's progress in the absence of the teacher.
• Assists with maintaining order in the classroom
• Assists in the supervision of children

• Child supervision skills.
• Ability to observe, assess and accurately report the behavior of children
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to constantly monitor the safety and well-being of students, particularly when student is participating in an inclusive activity.
• Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
• Excellent MS Office, verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified is desired. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience.
• Must be a member of the SDA church in regular standing
• Must obtain clearance through required background checks and child protection training
