Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) is seeking an Accounting faculty member to serve as an Academic Program Head (Associate of Applied Science in Accounting) and teach Accounting. This is a full-time, 9-month, 24-pay position. Anticipated start date is August 2026.
The position includes teaching high impact accounting courses within traditional classroom, hybrid, HyFlex, and online instructional environments— with a focus on a strong pedagogical approach and quality student learning assessments. The position also includes participation in institutional development such as service and leadership on college committees, academic advising, and mentoring adjunct faculty within the discipline. The selected candidate will also participate in scholarly engagement, professional development activities, and community service to both the BRCC campus and the local service region.

Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in Accounting OR Master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting.
- Experience using a variety of computer software programs and ability to learn new ones, particularly related to online instruction.
- Ability to teach students effectively and create lesson plans.
- Passion for the field of accounting and for teaching.
- Ability to use creativity, innovation, and compassion to instruct and engage students.
- Ability to teach a diverse student population.
- Community college or university teaching experience in the classroom, hybrid, HyFlex, as well as synchronous and asynchronous online modalities.
- Documented track record of innovation in the classroom, teaching, and soft skills.
- Academic program management experience or program management equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others.
