Purpose of Position:
Adjunct Faculty Members
Teach individual courses, as needed, in Classical Studies or Latin in upcoming Fall or Spring semesters and beyond.
Qualifications- Have an earned graduate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in a relevant discipline, with 18 completed semester hours of related graduate coursework. Official transcripts will be required at the time of hire.
- Submit transcript documenting the most advanced degree earned (photocopy acceptable for initial screening).
- Provide contact information for at least three references.
- CNU-sponsored background check required for hire.
The Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures (MCLL) at Christopher Newport University is composed of a team of 20 scholar-teachers who are committed to undergraduate education and to professional growth. The Department offers instruction in ancient Greek, Latin, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian and Spanish as well as courses in English on the ancient (and modern) worlds. Our programs include five majors, four interdisciplinary minors, and MAT degrees in Spanish and ESL.
We are also strong supporters of study abroad and sponsor numerous short-term study trips and longer-term cultural immersion opportunities. We invite candidates to visit for more information.
