Long Term Substitute Teacher - Kindergarten

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long Term Substitute Teacher for our Kindergarten classroom at Locust Grove Primary. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and capable of creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment. This position requires a commitment to fostering a love of learning in young children while following the established curriculum and supporting the developmental needs of each student.

• Implement lesson plans and instructional activities aligned with the curriculum.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
• Assess and document student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student performance and classroom activities.
• Manage classroom behavior in a constructive manner, promoting respect and cooperation among students.
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to support student learning and development.
• Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
• Participate in professional development opportunities as required.
• Perform other duties related to the role as assigned by the school administration.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification or licensure for early childhood education preferred.
• Previous experience working with young children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to varying classroom situations and student needs.
• Proficiency in classroom management techniques.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
• Availability to commit to the duration of the long-term substitute assignment.
