Project Engineer, Mechanical Engineer

* ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

*** Develops custom air handler solutions by reviewing detailed job specifications, selecting components, generating mechanical drawings, and create bills of material.
* Support production processes in order to eliminate any questions, concerns, and/or roadblocks during manufacture.
* Supports new product development with conceptual designs, layouts, and bill of materials as needed.
* Supports continuous improvement and cost reduction activities through improved product design / design for manufacturing (DFM)
* Assists with production and/or customer testing of completed systems.
* Commercializes new control solutions such as sensors, actuators, VFDs, and networking.
* Provides Mechanical Engineering expertise and/or support to other departments as needed
** DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
*** Ability to work on large scale projects and provide comprehensive documentation
* Effective communication skills, both written and oral
* Ability to successfully plan work to meet schedule deadlines
* Demonstrated problem solver & team player
* Ability to work with outside vendors/engineers to implement solutions

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

*** Minimum B.S. In Mechanical Engineering or B.S.E.T in Mechanical Engineering Technology
* Authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer
* Experience with selection of components used in HVAC applications using computer programs.
* Practical knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems preferred; but not required.
* Previous experience with product testing, troubleshooting, and HVAC control strategies
* Ability to generate drawings with AutoCAD or similar programs
* Knowledge of safety standards

Due to the custom nature of the equipment and its application, the Project Engineer will gain valuable experience in many design disciplines.
