Job Description

We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Hydrogen for immediate employment. This remote, part-time role offers an exciting opportunity in renewable energy technology consulting. Candidates should have a background in engineering or science, with significant utility, industry, or national laboratory R&D experience preferred. Leadership in R&D is a plus, and some travel may be required for technical meetings.

We are particularly interested in expertise in:

• 15+ years of hydrogen energy experience
• Assessment of hydrogen energy options
• Hydrogen system design and grid integration
• Operations and maintenance of hydrogen energy systems

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze trends and technical factors related to hydrogen energy
• Evaluate hydrogen project plans
• Research regulations and policies impacting hydrogen technologies
• Develop studies, reports, and summaries on renewable energy infrastructure strategies
• Create resource assessments and deployment roadmaps

Qualifications & Experience

• Advanced degree in engineering or science, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 15 years of relevant hydrogen energy experience
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies and deployment challenges
• Program and project management experience is a plus

Additional Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and within diverse teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Interest in sustainability

Compensation

$60 - $120 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Salary is determined by internal equity, market data, and applicant skills.
