OSP Construction Estimator; Mid Atlantic Virginia

Overview

The Construction Estimator will leverage their expertise in OSP, data center, and geotechnical projects to deliver precise cost estimates and proposals. This role requires a strong technical foundation in underground utility construction and related disciplines, with an emphasis on quality, accuracy, and client partnership.

• Prepare and assemble bid proposals, including detailed estimates by performing full takeoffs and soliciting pricing from qualified vendors and subcontractors.
• Review proposal specifications and drawings for completeness and accuracy.
• Attend pre-bid meetings to confirm scope and assess project risks.
• Research, negotiate, and prepare purchase orders and subcontracts for awarded projects.
• Participate in pre-job meetings with project management teams.
• Conduct occasional site visits to evaluate current and potential projects.
• Support knowledge-sharing and act as a subject matter expert (SME) for estimating best practices where applicable.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

• 5 years of relevant estimating experience in telecom, electrical, OSP (outside plant), pipeline, and water/sewer markets.
• Strong familiarity with data center projects and geotechnical considerations.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil preferred) or construction management strongly preferred.
• Advanced candidates with 10+ years of experience may be considered for a senior/lead role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and accuracy of information.
• Proven ability to meet strict deadlines while managing multiple projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• General working knowledge of estimating and takeoff software.
