Safety Specialist

** About the role**:
We’re seeking a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Assurance Advisor to proactively drive a safety and environmental culture, while ensuring the implementation of Transurban’s HSE Management System across highway maintenance and construction operations.

Conduct assurance activities for high-risk tasks including fall protection, electrical safety, vehicle operations, trenching, excavations, and traffic control, ensuring alignment with HSE plans and regulatory requirements.
** This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including:
** Demonstrated experience in incident investigation, training delivery, and stakeholder engagement. Experience delivering safety programs (e.g., Electrical Safety, Lockout Tagout (LOTO), Fall Protection, Hazard Communication (HAZCOM)).  

Experience with in infrastructure, construction, maintenance of traffic and work area protection, preferred.  Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, National Fire Protection Association Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E), HSE best practices, environmental compliance, risk management, and safety systems.  Knowledge of environmental regulations such as the Clean Water Act, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and/or Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA).
