Construction Project Coordinator
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Surry, VA
Pay Range: $35.00/hr – $40.00/hr
- Coordinate maintenance support activities and project construction activities of a nuclear generating facility to provide reliable, efficient, and economical electric service.
- Attend online work management/work control and outage meetings, coordinating completion of work as scheduled through the work control process.
- Coordinate scheduled work per the online plant schedule and outage schedule with Projects, Maintenance, Operations, Radiation Protection, and other work groups.
- Ensure effective communication and maximum efficiency in weekly work schedules by coordinating with various departments.
- Prepare viable work schedules to maximize maintenance effectiveness and ensure department schedules are person‑power loaded to optimum levels.
- Support the development and implementation of online and outage schedules as requested by Outage and Planning to ensure schedule integration.
- Develop solutions to scheduling problems and resolve related plant resource, schedule, and staffing issues.
- Coordinate and manage emergent work into the online schedule.
- Coordinate scheduled work per the project construction implementation schedule with Maintenance, Operations, Radiation Protection, and other work groups.
- Identify crew sizes and coordinate maintenance support and construction activities, effectively using resources such as staffing, equipment, and supplies.
- Evaluate risk for maintenance support and project construction, developing risk plans for the department’s work activities.
- 5+ years of related experience in operation and maintenance of power plant systems and equipment, with demonstrated experience in the nuclear field.
- Knowledge of plant specifications, methods, and procedures for performance of site services functions.
- Proficiency with software and systems used for scheduling outages.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prepare viable work schedules, perform post‑plan assessments, and identify problem areas and solutions.
- Effective communication skills, fostering cooperation and interrelationships that support planning and scheduling of work week activities.
- Ability to resolve employee concerns in a competent, respectful, and responsive manner, fostering a safety‑conscious work environment supportive of positive, honest, and open exchange of ideas.
- Minimum 5 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Technical Studies, Planning, Scheduling, Coordination, Nuclear Power, or Naval Nuclear disciplines.
