SprinklerForeman
The Sprinkler Foreman serves as a senior technical and leadership position within the fire protection division. This role is responsible for planning, leading, and managing the prefabrication of fire sprinkler systems, including the development of preliminary designs, generation of bills of materials, and coordination of prefabrication and field readiness. The Sprinkler Foreman provides direct oversight and training to prefabrication personnel and is responsible for managing the work of subcontractors to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and code compliance.
The position requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to excellence, and a hands-on approach to ensuring work is delivered accurately and efficiently. Periodic travel to project sites is required for field surveys, constructability assessments, and system commissioning support.
- Lead and oversee the full cycle of prefabrication for fire sprinkler systems, including review of drawings, material planning, and production scheduling.
- Develop and produce preliminary layout sketches and designs in coordination with engineering and field teams.
- Prepare accurate bills of materials (BOM) and ensure timely procurement of required parts and materials.
- Supervise and train shop personnel and junior staff in prefabrication procedures, code compliance, safety protocols, and quality expectations.
- Oversee the work of subcontractors, ensuring adherence to specifications, schedules, safety regulations, and M.C. Dean standards.
- Ensure strict quality control throughout the prefabrication and installation processes; review finished assemblies for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with NFPA 13 and applicable codes.
- Conduct field visits to perform site surveys, verify measurements, assess installation conditions, and support commissioning efforts.
- Enforce and promote a strong safety culture, complying with OSHA, company safety programs, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and field supervisors to ensure alignment between prefabrication and field execution.
- Identify and troubleshoot design or fabrication issues, recommending solutions to maintain production efficiency and minimize rework.
- Maintain detailed documentation and records of prefabrication activity, material use, safety incidents, and quality assessments.

- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 10 years of fire sprinkler system installation, design, or prefabrication experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance.
- Deep knowledge of fire protection codes and standards, particularly NFPA 13.
- Strong background in fabrication shop operations, system layout interpretation, and material takeoffs.
- Experience supervising teams and subcontractors in a construction or fabrication environment.
- NICET Level III in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems or
- Pass NICET III exam within 90 days of employment.
