The City of Williamsburg's Public Works and Utilities Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Utility Engineer. The position is responsible for applying professional knowledge and skills necessary to oversee and assist with administering projects and tasks assigned to the Engineering Division of the City’s Public Works and Utilities Department. This includes work on transportation infrastructure, stormwater, water, and sanitary sewer systems operated and maintained by the City.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university; and
- Five (5) years of related experience or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed as an Engineer in Training (EIT) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Certified as a VDOT Work Zone Traffic Control (Basic or Intermediate).
- Certified as a DEQ Stormwater Plan Reviewer or Erosion & Sediment Control Plan Reviewer.
