About The Role
As a Mental Health Lead, you will oversee delivery of mental health services within a federally managed facility that provides care to individuals in U.S. government custody. This leadership role involves supervising clinical staff, coordinating care strategies, and ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards. You will work in a secure, clinic‑based environment, supporting both individual and family mental health needs, and guiding the implementation of evidence‑based practices across the facility.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary mental health team
- Oversee mental health assessments, treatment planning, and care coordination
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to mental health providers
- Develop and implement mental health protocols and crisis intervention strategies
- Monitor quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with medical, psychiatric, and administrative staff to optimize patient outcomes
- Facilitate staff training on trauma‑informed care and cultural sensitivity
- Support telehealth integration and remote care coordination
- Respond to urgent and emergent mental health situations
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related mental health field
- Current, unrestricted clinical license (e.g., LCSW, LPC, PsyD, PhD)
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience in mental health care
- At least one year of supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare setting
- Strong understanding of trauma‑informed care and crisis intervention
- BLS for Healthcare Providers® certification through the American Heart Association®
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Experience in detention/correctional or residential health care settings (preferred)
- Proficiency in Spanish (verbal and written, preferred)
The role may require physical exertion, including extended periods of standing, walking over uneven terrain, bending, lifting moderately heavy equipment or patients, and responding to emergency situations.
ScheduleThis facility operates 24/7/365. This full‑time position requires flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. On‑call availability is required.
