CERTIFIED PREADMISSIONS SCREENING CLINICIAN – MOBILE RESPONSE

Covering the counties of Halifax, Mecklenburg and Brunswick, VA. our behavioral health services are supported by community involvement and professional values.
Provides assessment, crisis intervention, crisis stabilization, and referrals to needed clinical services to clients in the community. This position is based in the clinician’s home, with immediate response when dispatched by the Crisis Hub and a minimum of weekly onsite check-ins at the SBH Response & Recovery Center. Provides services within 1 hour of home base and is required to respond within 1 hour of dispatch.
Residency in Halifax County, Mecklenburg County, or Brunswick County required. Works as part of the Regional Mobile Crisis team to assure services and resources are coordinated among providers as needed to help individuals served live and function optimally in the community in the least restrictive environment. Works closely with the Regional Mobile Crisis team, Child and Family Services Department, Outpatient Services Emergency Services and REACH.
Knowledge and experience with working with individuals experiencing behavioral health crises and techniques and interventions to effectively de-escalate crisis situations required. May be required to attend regional Mobile Crisis meetings outside of catchment areas.
- Works with team members to write and update required assessments to meet the admission and ongoing provision requirements for Regional Mobile Crisis.
- Ensures proper pre-authorization documentation to qualify for and receive payment for all services rendered are submitted within allowable time frames and maintained within the record.
- Writes effective and measurable individualized service plans as required upon admission.
- Provides counseling within scope of practice. Assists with crisis resolution and generalized problem-solving. Provides crisis supports as assigned
- Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work, Counseling or other Human Services fields.
- LCSW or LPC licensed.
- Licensed Eligible with the Board of Counseling (Resident in Counseling) required.
- Must have, or be eligible to obtain, certification as a pre-screener for emergency hospitalization in Virginia within six months of hire.
- Must meet all criminal background and drug screening requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record, required.
- Bilingual preferred but not required
