** for a full time, day shift position in Woodbridge, VA!

The schedule is 5 eight-hour days. On Call requirement is a minimum of 8 shifts per month including at least 1 weekend.

Must be within 30 minutes of the facility for on call requirements.
** Department Overview:
** The
** Cath Lab
** at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is a 50-person team of monitor techs, cardiovascular invasive techs, registered nurses and patient care staff for additional support. The team sees a mix of inpatient and outpatient and an average of 10 procedures per day. Heart and Vascular has 3 labs for EP, Cardiac and IR  Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment, evaluates patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers during cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures.

Provides patient care commonly used in the cardiac catheterization laboratory as requested and under the direction of a qualified physician. The Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist acts as a first assistant during diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization.

The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist administers medication under the direction of a qualified physician; ensures compliance with all hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and accreditation standards; participates in on-call rotation and responds rapidly to emergency cases, including STEMI activations; and contributes to ongoing quality assurance and process improvement initiatives in the cath lab.

ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

* Education:

*** High School Graduate or Equivalent required
* A graduate of a diploma, associates, or bachelor's health sciences program (includes, but is not limited to cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy or nursing) or a licensed/certified EMT or paramedic.
* Trade School graduate preferred

* Certifications:

*** Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Preferred
* BLS required within 90 days of hire
* ACLS required within 90 days of hire
*
* Experience:

*** 1 year of Cardiac Technician experience preferred
* Medication administration experience preferred
* Specialty procedures experience preferred
* EP and Cardiac Cath Experience preferred
* Sterile procedure experience preferred
