Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA/APP) - Oncology Infusion Emergency Response Team
UVA Health is seeking a PA or NP to join its Cancer Center Emergency Response Team (CERT) / Oncology Same Day Care Clinic (OSDC) advanced practice provider (APP) service. The APP will join a collaborative team of physicians, other APPs, and specialists managing a population of acute and chronic oncology patients at the UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA within UVA School of Medicine’s Division of Hematology-Oncology / Medical Oncology and UVA Health’s Center for Advanced Practice.
Following a 2-4 month onboarding process (experience dependent), the APP will provide management of same-day care for oncology patients in clinic, representing a broad spectrum of acute and chronic disease states in a practice model that emphasizes independence with support and collaboration from physician colleagues. The APP will respond to all infusion reactions and building emergencies. The role is in the outpatient area of the UVA infusion centers.

- Staffing: APPs at Emily Couric & Cancer Center Pantops for OSDC and CERT team (with projected growth to satellite infusion centers).
- Operational hours of the infusion centers are subject to change based on operational needs.
- Weekends and holidays staffed on a rotating basis.
- 2+ years as an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) with a strong background in critical care or emergent/urgent care.
- Oncology experience preferred but not required; applicants with an interest in oncology and complex acute care are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated clinical autonomy, excellent critical thinking, and ability to practice independently in a fast-paced environment.
- ACLS certification required (may be obtained upon hire).
- Collaborative, adaptable, and skilled in communicating within a multidisciplinary team setting.
Compensation:
The pay rate starts at $ per year. New hire compensation will be determined by education and experience.

Master’s degree from an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program. - Experience:

Eligible or licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA/CRNA/CNM) per Virginia state requirements. If NP, RN licensure in Virginia is required. Must meet UVA Health System credentialing and licensing requirements. BLS required. PALS/NRP as required for the position. ACLS as required for the position. - Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted. All safety-sensitive positions require a drug screen.
Standing for prolonged periods; repetitive movements with keyboard; ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs; exposure to noise, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease as applicable.
