Position Overview: Prepares and delivers medications to patients and/or nursing units under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or independent practitioner. Demonstrates competence in various pharmacy practice areas.
- Works competently in general and specialized pharmacy areas.
- Participates in training new employees.
- Fills and delivers medications under supervision.
- Follows policies and procedures consistently.
- Ensures adequate supplies for patient care.
- Triages and escalates issues outside scope to pharmacists or supervisors.
- Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
- Maintains quality assurance per departmental and legal standards.
- Operates pharmacy equipment correctly.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Compensation Range: $20.68 - $32.05 Hourly
Minimum Requirements- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Minimum 6 months relevant experience
- Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration
- CPhT credential through NHA or PTCB
Physical Demands: Standing for prolonged periods, good communication, auditory and visual skills, attention to detail, ability to lift less than 20 lbs.
