Inova Center for Personal Health is seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Emergency Clinician 3 to provide full‑time overnight care (Saturday, Sunday, Monday 7 pm‑7:30 am). The clinician will conduct psychiatric consultations across the emergency department, telehealth sites, urgent care and IPAC walk‑in clinic, offering crisis stabilization, risk assessment, and brief therapeutic interventions.
Job Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric consults to patients in the Emergency department, via telepsychiatry at other Inova ERs or urgent‑care facilities, or at IPAC walk‑in clinic.
- Maintain a therapeutic milieu to provide a safe environment for crisis stabilization.
- Serve as a clinical leader, using an integrated approach toward patient outcomes.
- Assess and diagnose mental‑health and/or substance‑use disorders, including risk assessments.
- Provide brief therapeutic interventions such as group programming, individual crisis therapy, family support sessions, and behavioral interventions.
- Coordinate care to ensure patients and families receive appropriate resources to optimize treatment outcomes.
- Support operational workflow of the team.
- Provide clinical supervision to team members seeking licensure.
- Master's Degree, Ph.D., PsyD, EdD in Mental Health, Social Work, Counseling, Substance Use Disorders or Behavioral Health related field.
- Minimum of four years’ experience working in psychiatric or mental‑health settings with seriously mentally ill patients.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) trained – receive CPI blue card within six months of hire.
- Board‑Approved Supervisor eligibility – must register as a Board‑Approved Supervisor in Virginia within three months of hire.
- Licensure:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LCSW, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, or Licensed Substance Abuse Professional.
