Oversees the nightly operation of the pharmacy. Ensures the safe and effective use of medications by providing optimal drug product selection, dosage regimen design, effective administration, drug therapy monitoring services and supervision of the medication dispensing process in the Medical Center.
This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Employees in exempt positions are paid on a salary basis and are not eligible for overtime compensation. This classification is based on the duties and responsibilities of the role, which meet the criteria for the Professional exemption.
The anticipated schedule arrangement for the successful incumbent is 7 nights on, 7 nights off (Thursday–Wednesday).
- Oversees nightly pharmacy operations.
- Demonstrates proficiency in Pharmacy distributive services.
- Maintains a role providing clinical pharmaceutical care to patients.
- Provides drug information to customers inside and outside of the Medical Center.
- Practices pharmacy in accordance with regulations.
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree - Experience:
No experience required - Licensure/
Certifications:
Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License required;
American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Job requires standing for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills;
Attention to detail and ability to write legibly;
Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals.
- The pay rate for this role starts at $ annually. New hire compensation will be determined by education and experience.
Position Compensation Range: $ - $ Annual
Onboarding RequirementsBackground checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety‑sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen.
