Job DescriptionPVCC is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education serving Central Virginia, principally residents of Charlottesville and surrounding Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson counties. Duties and ResponsibilitiesTeaching Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) content in classroom and campus laboratories. This position requires faculty to design course syllabi and develop course materials related to DMS. Excellent knowledge of sonography equipment and hands‑on lab practice. Teaching load based on student enrollment and staffing needs.
Minimum Qualifications- Active RDMS credentials from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in specialty area of both abdomen and Ob/Gyn.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in the teaching field with demonstrated competencies.
- Minimum of 2 years full‑time related occupational experience as a sonographer.
- Knowledge of computers and online instructional technologies (Canvas).
- Excellent oral/written communication skills.
- Skilled in teaching lecture, online, and/or hands‑on laboratory courses.
- Multiple professional registry credentials RVT and RDCS.
- Prior teaching experience.
