These positions focus on managing the financial aspects of patient care, including billing, insurance claims, payment processing, financial counseling, utilization, and revenue cycle analysis. Patient access staff are responsible for managing entry points into the healthcare system, including scheduling, registration, and verifying insurance. Patient access staff ensure patients can efficiently navigate administrative processes while maintaining data accuracy and enhancing the patient experience.
The role includes overseeing staff—hiring/firing authority, achieving goals through direct or indirect reports—and supervising professional‑level employees within a job area, focusing on tactical and operational plans with short to mid‑term focus, developing solutions to moderately complex problems, and ensuring staff utilization and project completion on time and within budget.
- Education:
Bachelors degree required or obtained within 3 years of hire date. Master’s degree preferred. - Experience:
3 years of medical background in outpatientifenical setting. - Licensure:
None required. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia preferred.
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job occasionally requires traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
