The F5 Load Balancing Network Engineer will be responsible for operationalizing and supporting F5 load balancing solutions to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and availability of the customer’s network infrastructure. The role requires expertise in F5 load balancing technologies and experience in providing support for enterprise networks, multi-cloud, and mobility solutions. The incumbent will work closely with IT and business stakeholders to identify and resolve any technical issues related to load balancing and to ensure stability, scalability, and security.
The ideal candidate should have a strong operational background in the F5 load balancing space, with a deep understanding of fault-tolerant and high-availability network solutions. Applicants should demonstrate the ability to work as a member of a team, a can-do attitude, proactive and continuous learning, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service to both business and IT stakeholders. Certification in F5 technology is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth operation of F5 load balancing solutions to support the enterprise network, multi-cloud, and mobility solutions.
- Configure, and manage F5 load balancing solutions, including Local Traffic Manager (LTM) and Global Traffic Manager (GTM), to support enterprise network, multi-cloud, and mobility solutions.
- Develop load balancing policies, monitor traffic flows, and fine-tune load balancing algorithms to improve application performance and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to load balancing, including analyzing traffic patterns, identifying bottlenecks, and working with vendors to resolve complex issues.
- Work with IT and business stakeholders to understand application requirements and develop load balancing solutions that meet those requirements.
- Monitor load balancing performance and identify and resolve any issues related to latency, bandwidth usage, and Quality of Service (QoS).
- Develop and implement load balancing security policies and procedures to prevent unauthorized access to the network and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop technical solutions that meet those requirements.
- Manage and maintain the load balancing infrastructure, including F5 devices, to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Participate in the planning, design, and implementation of new network infrastructure solutions, including multi-cloud and mobility solutions.
- Participate in change management processes to ensure that changes to the load balancing infrastructure are planned, tested, and implemented with minimal impact on IT and business operations.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to load balancing infrastructure, including policies, procedures, and implementation plans.
- Educate other IT staff and business stakeholders on F5 load balancing technologies and ensure that they are using the infrastructure effectively.
- Configure network monitoring and logging tools to ensure that the load balancing infrastructure is performing optimally and to identify any issues proactively.
- Communicate effectively with IT and business stakeholders and provide timely updates of any load balancing issues, resolutions, and improvements to the network infrastructure.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing F5 load balancing solutions in a large-scale IT environment.
- Technical expertise in F5 load balancing technologies, including LTM, GTM, and BIG-IQ.
- Knowledge of F5 security technologies, including Advanced Web Application Firewall (ASM) and Access Policy Manager (APM).
