CACI is seeking a Senior Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer to support the design, configuration, and maintenance of a large, virtual desktop environment. This role will be the SME in troubleshooting all related performance issues across the organization. The position requires experience in system design, integration, process automation and improvement, and proficiency in Network, Storage, Azure AD and Intune.
We are looking for an individual with a proven track record designing, implementing, and maintaining VDI in a large enterprise. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self‑starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills, who excels both individually and as part of a team, and possesses a passion for operational excellence and strong interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities- Architect, design, and provide TIER 3/4 support to system administrators to resolve VDI issues.
- Guide optimization of desktops for platform interoperability and act as liaison between VDI technologies.
- Provide endpoint support for Virtual Desktop related issues and troubleshooting tasks.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of administration, engineering, and implementation of virtual desktop infrastructure technologies.
- Operate across multiple and complex production environments with multiple stakeholders.
- Apply extensive technical expertise across related disciplines.
- Conduct trade studies and make recommendations on solutions and “make‑buy” decisions.
- Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance.
- Ability to obtain DHS Entry On Duty (EOD).
- Master’s degree and 10 years of experience OR total 19 years of experience.
- Experience in Microsoft Azure, Azure Networking, Storage and Virtual Desktops.
- Experience managing and administering Windows Servers.
- Experience with Azure AD, Intune, FSLogix.
- Experience with Nerdio.
- Experience in VDI profile management.
- Endpoint protection, policy management and application of STIGs.
- AVD integration with Office 365 services.
- Desktop software provisioning and support services.
- Collaborate and work well in a team environment.
- 1+ year experience with MS SQL, Puppet, Chef, Qualys, SCCM, Intune, MDM solutions.
- 1+ year experience setting up and integrating IIS, SQL Server.
- 2+ years experience with Azure Security Tools (e.g., Sentinel).
