Systems Analyst, Data Analyst
Serve as a liaison between business units on the implementation of changes and enhancements to the insurance processing system and interpretation of the product manual.
LOCATIONThis position is based out of our beautiful West Creek Office location. Hybrid work schedule is offered after training period in office.
POSITIONFull time (37.5 hours per week) – Salaried Position with Benefits
Hours:
Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Review, recommend, and assist with implementation of improvements to the insurance systems ensuring satisfactory system performance.
- Gather and document requirements based on requests from business units to create system changes.
- Develop design specifications, including manual processes and business information requirements.
- Assist in development and execution of Quality Assurance testing as needed.
- SME on insurance business activities, procedures, guidelines and operating processes.
- Serve as Point of Contact for Policy Services, Underwriting, and Product & Rating.
- Train Service Center Operators and Underwriting on System Functionality Changes and Enhancements.
- Monitor, update and document, Western Union Policy Services (WUPS), scripts, one off reports and work around processes.
- Answer processing and procedural questions from various business units.
- Troubleshoot production issues in policy processing systems.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with various business units.
- Work with each business partner to fully understand, create, communicate and prioritize Defects and Change Requests.
- Support project teams during development and testing by clarifying requirements.
- Support existing applications.
- All other duties as assigned by the Business Analyst Supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the insurance industry.
- Good knowledge of the manual rules and rating procedures for each line of business.
- Must possess a good understanding of insurance processing systems and workflow.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Multiline Business Knowledge.
- Good Knowledge of information systems and requirements.
- Good Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail Oriented.
- Good Requirements Gathering skills.
- Strong Customer Focus.
- Ability to work well on a team with all levels of the organization.
- P&C license.
- AAM, AINS, AIS or similar Insurance Designations.
- Working knowledge of Virginia Farm Bureau & Country way Applications.
- Degree in Business or IT.
- BA Certification.
