About Our OpportunityReporting to the Manager, Service Navigation, the Senior Business Analyst’s role is to lead planning, evaluation, and implementation activities to support our mandate of continuous service improvement. This position will also support the development, implementation and administration of the incident management process to restore IT services promptly. As a subject matter expert in business process re‑engineering and continuous improvement, the analyst will provide advanced strategic and professional analytical services for departmental program/business units within government.
The analyst also acts as a bridge between and across IT organization teams to ensure our services meet defined technology solutions and business needs. This requires taking a leadership role in defining solutions and assisting with the implementation of business process improvement initiatives to realize program and operational savings, improved client service and attainment of strategic goals.
To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science plus a minimum of five (5) years’ experience or graduation from a recognized Information Technology program plus five (5) years and six (6) months experience, or an equivalent.
Your ability to:
- Identify and manage service improvement opportunities to enhance service delivery with a focus on meeting client needs; lead continual service improvement plans.
- Manage aspects of incident management and related initiatives, including the planning and organization of a broad range of complex business enablement activities involving some uncertainty and requiring the formulation and adjustment of strategies or approaches.
- Guide effective and efficient resolution of incidents resulting in improved recovery time of business operations.
- Conduct and document analysis for trending and reporting to all levels of leadership.
- Mentor, inspire and educate colleagues in the business analysis discipline.
- Provide sound judgment and have strong analytical skills to determine system requirements, evaluate alternatives and provide sound solutions to client business problems.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication skills and political acuity.
