Summary

The Prince George, VA team seeks a Production Supervisor to manage the daily operations of hourly associates responsible for receiving finished goods, order processing, production and shipping of all products leaving the warehouse. The Supervisor must ensure USDA, QA, facility management, safety, ergonomics, Human Resources and other related goals and objectives are met.

Principal and

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Safety and Risk Management
  • Enforce safety protocols and team compliance with safety standards for all associates.
  • Conduct regular safety training, risk assessments and incident investigations to prevent workplace injuries.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure team compliance with Safety Standards.
Food Safety and Quality Standards, Regulatory and Environmental Compliance and Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain compliance with all food safety regulations and company policies, including HACCP, GMPs and sanitation protocols.
  • Ensure all products meet or exceed established quality specifications through rigorous adherence to SOPs.
  • Lead corrective actions for non‑conformance and drive initiatives to reduce waste, contamination risks and product recalls.
  • Implement and monitor quality control processes, including inspections, audits and corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, ISO standards and other industry‑specific requirements.
  • Integrate lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to boost operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Ensure facility compliance with all environmental laws and regulations related to air, water, waste disposal and hazardous management.
People Development, Engagement and Leadership
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance skills while managing performance and learning.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive and engaged team culture aligned with company values.
  • Drive associate engagement and retention.
Production Oversight
  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet schedules, customer specifications, output goals and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance to monitor equipment performance and operational issues to minimize downtime.
  • Optimize labor, raw materials and equipment usage to ensure cost‑effective operations while meeting production standards.
Reporting and Communication
  • Maintain accurate production records including output, quality metrics and associate performance and attendance.
  • Provide regular updates to management on production status, challenges and improvement opportunities.
  • Serve as liaison between production teams and other departments such as engineering, QA and supply chain.
Required

Minimum Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 2‑3 years in a manufacturing environment with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Bachelors/Associates degree candidates with no manufacturing experience must have at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree (highly preferred).
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a focus on associate development.
  • In‑depth knowledge of quality control processes and compliance standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA).
  • Awareness and willingness to learn lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
  • Poultry or Protein production experience.
  • Certifications:

    Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, OSHA 10/30 or similar.
Environmental Factors and

Physical Requirements
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies.
  • May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
  • Plant environment with wet and moist floors, metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • Temperature range 28°C to 100°F with ambient and 100% humidity.
  • Product handling temperatures 25°F to 50°F.
  • Noise range 50 dB to 110 dB.
  • Exposure to all chemicals used in poultry, food processing facilities.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the company.
