PPM Millwright- (SIC Skippers - Temp

We are a leading industrial mechanical, electrical, and civil construction services provider for the fossil and nuclear power, pulp and paper, chemical, mining, and general manufacturing industries. We provide a full range of industrial facilities maintenance and process maintenance services.

MOR PPM Inc. is looking for millwrights in Skippers, VA. The Millwrights will install and/or maintain machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments. Site Specific training/orientation is required before arrival to job.

• Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment.
• Assembles and installs machines then tests them to ensure correct operation.
• Works in full compliance with approved safety regulations.
• Manages layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime.
• Identifies and repairs problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts.
• Dismantles older machines and replaces them with new ones.
• Oversees preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn parts, and lubricating mechanical components.
• Uses machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts.
• Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines, and blowers; aligns machines and equipment, bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundations or other structures; may operate engine lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications; may repair and lubricate machines and equipment; may be involved in grouting activity for equipment base plates.
• Performs any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner and keeps work area clean and orderly.

Preferred: 4 years of work experience as an industrial millwright or having successfully completed a curriculum closely related to Millwright work from a vocational institution with 2 years’ experience.

• Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through Docu Sign.
• May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must possess sufficient strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above.
• Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
• Must have a full range of motion consistent with age.
• Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders.
• Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms, and other job‑related noises.
• Visual acuity, depth perception, and color discrimination consistent with the requirements to work at heights and on uneven surfaces.
• Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
