Machinist – Madison Heights, VA

Shibuya Hoppmann has an immediate opening in our Madison Heights, VA facility for an experienced Machinist (day shift).

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing work orders and technical drawings to ensure accurate production of parts.
• Developing a plan of action to manufacture parts according to specifications; including selecting the appropriate machine and settings, taking precise measurements for cutting and shaping, setting up machines, aligning cutting tools, securing work pieces for machining.
• Monitoring production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
• Measuring and inspecting the finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances.
• Troubleshooting machine issues, performing basic machine maintenance and identifying needed repairs.
• Maintaining a safe and clean workstation.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in conventional machining.
• Proficient in the operation of manual mills and lathes.
• Able to perform manual work and service as directed, process quality parts, and fabricate piecework.
• Able to execute set-ups and hold close tolerances.
• Able to fabricate quality parts that meet requirements of the engineering drawings.
• Able to review job related information (work orders, drawings, etc.) and process accordingly.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

Experience in a conventional manufacturing facility preferred.

Experience on a prototrak mill preferred.
