Job Title:
Coating Operator
The Coating Operator plays a crucial role in the initial stage of the production process, where chemical formulas are prepared in tanks and applied to film to enhance its appearance, durability, and function. The operator monitors the coating process, working closely with the chemical room, and operates the DCS system to ensure quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities- Load and unload jumbo rolls of film using a forklift.
- Monitor and understand the setup and operation of the coating line.
- Respond to process alarms promptly.
- Assist the chemical room operator by accurately weighing and adding required chemicals to mixing tanks.
- Maintain adequate inventory of supplies for the coating department.
- Mark all chemical and hazardous waste containers according to federal and state regulations.
- Keep accurate records of the mixing process and report any abnormal conditions.
- Operate a forklift as necessary.
- Handle hazardous waste following appropriate training.
- Manage pumps, valves, and controls in chemical rooms across two levels.
- Minimum of 1-2 years in machine operation, mechanical functions, or material handling.
- Experience with rolling, rewinding, or slitting operations is ideal.
- Ability to perform accurate documentation and use a tape measure.
- Meet daily production goals for output.
- Proficiency in math, including addition, subtraction, division, and reading bar graphs.
- Regular use of computers for inventory documentation, Excel, and company software.
- Ability to work with common fractions, decimals, and drawings.
- Flexibility to work overtime and shift changes as needed.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted and 120 lbs assisted, and roll 450 lbs regularly.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Chesterfield, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 – $22.00/hr.
