Reports to: Vice President, Business Development

Position Overview: The Marketing Manager serves as the sole marketing professional for KBS and is responsible for planning, developing, and executing all marketing and branding initiatives. This role supports business development efforts through high-quality proposals and marketing materials, ensures consistent corporate branding, partners with Human Resources to strengthen the company’s recruiting efforts and employer brand, and elevates the company’s visibility in the construction industry.

The ideal candidate is both creative and strategic, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, writing, formatting, and production of proposals, qualifications packages, and presentations.
  • Coordinate with Vice President of Preconstruction, project teams, and leadership to obtain content, project data, resumes, and technical information.
  • Manage proposal schedules and ensure timely, accurate submissions.
  • Maintain a library of proposal content, project sheets, resumes, and supporting materials.
Marketing & Graphic Design
  • Design all marketing materials, including brochures, capability statements, project sheets, newsletters, advertisements, and event materials.
  • Create and maintain digital content such as social media graphics, website updates, and email communications.
  • Develop engaging visual storytelling strategies to highlight project successes and firm capabilities.
Brand Management
  • Ensure consistency and quality of corporate branding across all materials, templates, signage, reports, and client-facing documents.
  • Update and enforce brand guidelines to support a unified corporate identity.
  • Serve as the internal resource for brand standards and marketing support.
Human Resources and Recruiting Support
  • Partner with HR to support recruiting initiatives and enhance the company’s employer brand.
  • Design and write engaging job postings, career fair materials, and recruitment marketing content.
  • Create visual assets for job ads, social media recruiting campaigns, and internal culture initiatives.
  • Maintain consistent messaging and branding across HR communications and talent-attraction efforts.
Business Development Support
  • Assist the VP of Business Development in planning and executing marketing campaigns, client outreach, industry events, and conferences.
  • Maintain marketing databases and pursuit tracking.
  • Support client presentations, award submissions, and speaking engagement materials.
Content Development & Communications
  • Write, edit, and proofread marketing and communication materials, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with the firm’s messaging.
  • Collect project stories, photos, and updates from field and project teams to support marketing needs.
  • Manage company social media presence and support website content updates.
Event Coordination
  • Assist VP of Business Development with planning of KBS internal and external events.
  • Coordinate and work with vendors for KBS events.
  • Attend industry events such as GRACRE, SMPS, and other market-related events as a representative of KBS.
Qualifications
  • Combination of education and experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related field; experience in the A/E/C (Architecture/Engineering/Construction) industry preferred.
  • Experience in proposal development, ideally within construction or professional services.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign required), Microsoft Office Suite and Wordpress.
  • Strong writing, editing, and graphic design skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical staff and senior leaders.
  • Flexible office/hybrid environment with occasional travel to job sites, events, or industry functions.
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines, handle shifting priorities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
