HopeWELL Baptist Church—“a church for every generation”— is a warm and welcoming, down‑to‑earth family of Jesus followers, located in rural New Kent County, Virginia, sharing the love of Christ with many families and with many generations since our founding in 1842.
We’re near the New Kent/Hanover County line and just 20 minutes from Richmond or Williamsburg, with currently 60–70 of our 200‑plus members regularly gathering every Sunday for Bible‑centered, praise & संद ward. Typically, ~40 members meet for Sunday morning Bible study and fellowship, with smaller groups coming back Sunday night and Wednesday to pray and dig deeper.
Although small in number, we are greatly blessed with the 2022 completion of a new Worship Center and Meeting/Fellowship Hall (with manageable debt on track for complete payoff in 2032). Our 1909 chapel next door now holds student ministry, offices, and storage. Together these facilities give us plenty of room for weekly worship and fellowship plus community events including VBS, Easter activities,Lay breakfast gatherings, Christmas celebrations, food festivals, concerts, and everyday acts of neighborly kindness.
We’re Southern Baptist, partnering with the BGAV and the Dover Association, gladly supporting missionaries and related SBC ministries with our gifts. We joyfully participate in helping to meet various local community needs as well.
If you love teaching the Bible, praying with humble folks living under His grace, and helping a small, congregationally led church reach the next generation for God’s Kingdom, we’d be honored to talk.
