Overview
Registered Nurse (RN) - Acute Oncology (3 South) Wage role at UVA Health. The Acute Inpatient Oncology Unit is a newly built, 28-room facility specializing in Hematology-Oncology, Gynecology-Oncology, Neuro-Oncology, and Benign Hematology. Nurses care for patients receiving therapies such as BiTE, HiPEC, and ISBT, with RN-to-patient ratios of 1:3 during the day and 1:4 unit offers opportunities for ONS Chemotherapy Certification, research mentorship, and advancement through UVA Health’s Magnet-designated Clinical Career Ladder.

Responsibilities- Consistently provides effective direct care, as part of the interdisciplinary team, to a variety of complex patients.
- Manage care and implement treatment plans at a refined skill level in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians and other health care team members.
- Seek and provide feedback to improve clinical practice.
- Assume a beginning leadership role but seek mentoring in this process.

- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
- Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
- Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Standing for prolonged periods, frequent travel, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and legibility in writing. Ability to lift/push/pull 20–50 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
CompensationPosition Compensation Range: $39.90 - $53.00 Hourly
