Base Pay Range

$38.62/hr – $51.49/hr

Location and Schedule

Cedarfield Nursing – Part‑time. 3pm‑11pm (Evening shift). Every other weekend only (Saturday and Sunday).

Job Description

Responsible for supervising the nursing care administered to the Health Services Residents. Supervises the care team members, including Licensed Charge Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, and maintains close working relationships and open lines of communication with all departments. Acts as acting Administrator of Health Services, Director of Nursing, and Assistant Director of Nursing in the absence of the Executive Director.

Education, Experience, Certification & Licensure Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a diploma or degree.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia.
  • CPR/AED certification required.
  • 2+ years of licensed practical nursing experience.
Job Duties
  • Supervise the nursing team, including orientation of new members and ensuring high standards of care, resident life, and team competence.
  • Assume responsibility for the safety and welfare of residents and charge nurse duties when absent.
  • Maintain open communication and accessibility to team members, residents, families, and volunteers.
  • Participate in mandatory in‑service seminars and workshops and complete Relias Learning in‑services as assigned.
  • Monitor resident service, documentation, and the Health Services environment for compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Assess injuries and render first aid when appropriate; refer residents to the MD and/or ER if higher level of care is needed; record injury incidents in the 24‑hour report.
  • Assist Nursing Supervisor with Care Plans and coordinate replacement of team members for call‑ins with Charge Nurse.
  • Respond to emergency calls for independent‑living residents and coordinate transfer to hospital during medical emergencies.
  • Assist Charge Nurses with physician visits, decision making, directing CNA work assignments, treatments, monthly summaries, admissions/discharges and transfers, and transcription of orders.
  • Provide input regarding residents scheduled for care conferences.
  • Participate in the implementation and monitoring of the Quality Assurance Program.
Qualifications
  • Intermediate conceptual knowledge of nursing theories, practices, and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of common disease processes and treatments.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • May require frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs).
  • Extensive walking, bending, stooping, and standing.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work inside and outside, making rounds daily throughout the facility and responding to problems and emergencies.
