Registered Nurse (RN) - Nerancy Neuro ICU (NNICU), Full Time
UVA Health is a world‑class Magnet Recognized academic medical center and health system with a level‑1 trauma center. The Neuro ICU is a 12‑bed critical‑care unit providing intensive management to patients with life‑threatening neurological and neurosurgical conditions, including central nervous system tumors, complex spine surgery, acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, endovascular interventions, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular diseases, status epilepticus, and central nervous system infections.
Responsibilities- Relationship Based Care – Self and colleagues: influence patient experience through nursing relationship with self, peers, and patients/families.
- Relationship Based Care – Patients and families: similar influence on patient experience.
- Expert Caring: clinical assessment, planning, prioritizing, coordinating, and implementing care.

- Innovation: apply technologies that support patient care and actively seek to implement evidence‑based practice and new nursing research.
- Other duties may be assigned as part of this role.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within five years of hire. - Experience:
One year of relevant experience. - Licensure/
Certifications:
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent travel, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 20–50 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
CompensationPosition Compensation Range: $39.90–$53.00 hourly. New hire compensation will be determined by previous work experience, education and/or experience.
Onboarding RequirementsBackground checks and pre‑employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety‑sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen.
