Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Device Clinic

Overview

Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Device Clinic at UVA Health University Medical Center. Provides specialized care to patients with cardiac devices in clinic and inpatient settings and collaborates with a small team of nurses to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and provide specialized care to patients with cardiac devices.
  • Perform device interrogations, programming, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families about cardiac device management, including remote monitoring and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Show adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and procedures.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Graduate of an accredited nursing program;
    Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
  • Experience:

    1 year of relevant experience; 2 years of cardiology experience preferred.
  • Licensure:
    Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
  • Physical demands:
    Standing for prolonged periods; frequent walking; bending/stooping; ability to lift/push/pull 20–50 lbs; proficient communication, hearing, and vision.
Schedule and Benefits
  • Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM (no weekends, holidays, or nights).
  • Possibility of remote work one day per week after 1.5 years of employment.
