As a School Nurse (LPN/RN) at Rivermont Schools, you will support student health and wellness by providing compassionate, high-quality care throughout the school day. You’ll assist with medication administration, first aid, and health monitoring under the direction of a Certified School Nurse or physician. Your calm, caring presence will help ensure students can focus on learning in a safe, supportive environment.
WhatYou’ll Need
- Current Virginia license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Minimum of two years of experience providing nursing services to children
- Knowledge of medical disorders, treatment procedures, medication administration, and infection control
- Understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to school health services
- Strong communication, documentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with students, families, staff, and multidisciplinary team members
- Valid Virginia driver’s license
- Provide basic nursing care, first aid, and health support to students during the school day
- Administer medications and document care according to physician orders and school policies
- Monitor students with chronic conditions and report changes in health status to the Certified School Nurse
- Support staff with student health needs and communicate effectively with families when appropriate
- Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant health office environment
