Job Duties- Proficient in hair cutting, trimming, and shaving
- Experience with traditional and modern barbering techniques
- Skilled in beard and mustache grooming
- Knowledge of sanitation, sterilization, and infection control
- Ability to work with sensitive skin, thinning hair, and scalp conditions
- Proper use and maintenance of barber tools and equipment
- Respectful and compassionate communication
- Patience and empathy when working with elderly clients
- Ability to actively listen and follow client preferences
- Professional demeanor and reliability
- Cultural sensitivity and respect for military backgrounds
- Understanding of basic health precautions (cuts, skin conditions, blood safety)
- Ability to adapt services for clients with limited mobility, PTSD, or cognitive impairments
- Knowledge of wheelchair and bedside grooming techniques
- Compliance with facility health and safety regulations
- Awareness of signs of discomfort or medical concerns and reporting appropriately
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Cosmetologist License in the state of Virginia
