Pay Range

$17.48/hr – $21.36/hr (Based on skills and experience; speak with recruiter for details).

Schedule

Full Time. 40 hours a week. 6:45 a.m. — 3:15 p.m. (Day shift). Alternating weekends required.

Two‑week rotating schedule:

  • Week 1:
    Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
  • Week 2:
    Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Job Description

Assists the professional nursing team by performing certified nursing assistant duties according to Pinnacle Living policies. Provides encouragement and assistance designed to motivate residents to their maximum level of independence.

Education, Experience, Certification and Licensure Requirements
  • Graduate from an approved Nursing Assistant Program.
  • Credentialed as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Virginia.
  • CPR/AED certification required.
  • 2 years of experience preferred.
Job Duties
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living: personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, nourishment and fluids, skin care, turning and positioning.
  • Assist residents with dining experience and help them eat when needed.
  • Provide one‑on‑one life enrichment programming per individualized service plan.
  • Observe resident behavior and report changes to the nurse in charge.
  • Assist residents in and out of bed, walk with residents per care plan, and take them to the bathroom as needed.
  • Change bed linens at least twice per week and as needed.
  • Complete weights and vitals per plan of care.
  • Participate in updating residents’ plan of care.
  • Document care in the medical record.
  • Respond to call lights promptly.
  • Assist residents with social and dining events.
  • Provide emotional support, comfort, and safety to residents.
  • Monitor resident safety and report accidents or unusual occurrences.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and safe environment.
  • Report faulty equipment or hazards to the nurse in charge.
  • Attend in‑service education, team conferences, and plan or IAP meetings.
  • Complete Relias Learning assignments and other assigned in‑services.
  • Uphold the resident Bill of Rights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Basic conceptual knowledge of nursing assistance theories and practices.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Basic math computation skills.
  • Working knowledge of common medical processes and treatments.
  • Ability to clean up bodily fluids or simple safety hazards as needed.
Supervision and Decision Making Exercised
  • Moderate guidance required; work reviewed at critical points.
  • Independent decisions based on standard policies.
  • Assist residents as directed by nurses.
  • Basic problem solving with guidance from higher levels as needed.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Extensive walking, bending, stooping, standing, pushing, pulling.
  • Fast‑paced work with multiple tasks.
  • Work inside and outside facility; respond to emergencies.
  • Universal staffing; flexible scheduling including weekends, evenings, holidays.
  • Environment includes typical healthcare setting with dementia patients.
