Registered Nurse (RN) – Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU (TCV ICU), Full Time
UVA Health is a world‑class Magnet‑recognized academic medical center with a level 1 trauma center and a reputation for high‑performing care across 5 adult specialties and 14 conditions/procedures. The 20‑bed TCV ICU provides postoperative care for patients following cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures such as CABG, valve replacement/repair, heart transplantation, lung transplantation, TAVR, esophagectomy, pneumonectomy, and aortic aneurysm repair.
RN duties integrate the American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards of Practice and the ANA Code of Ethics, as well as the UVA Nursing Professional Practice Model.
Responsibilities include:

- Innovation: applying technologies that support patient care and implementing evidence‑based practice and nursing research.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within five years of hire. - Experience:
At least one year of relevant experience. - Licensure/
Certifications:
Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia;
American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent traveling, bending/stooping, proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and legible writing; ability to lift or maneuver loads of 20‑50 lb; possible exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
Compensation & Benefits- Starting base rate: $39.90 per hour, with additional compensation determined by qualifications, experience, and education.
