We are looking for a Groundskeeper to join our team to help support our 232-unit community, Henrico Arms, Richmond, VA. This is a great opportunity to work alongside a supportive team and utilize your building or maintenance skills.
PAY
: $20 per hour
Location: Henrico Arms 1664 Henrico Arms Place Richmond, VA 23231
Schedule: Full Time | Monday - Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM

- Maintain the overall appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the property grounds to meet community standards and compliance requirements for Section 8 and Tax Credit housing.
- Perform regular landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, edging, watering, planting, weeding, mulching, and seasonal cleanup to ensure strong curb appeal.
- Inspect lawns, walkways, parking lots, and common outdoor spaces daily, reporting any safety hazards, maintenance needs, or code compliance issues to management.
- Maintain outdoor lighting, signage, and irrigation systems to ensure proper operation and a safe environment for residents and visitors.
- Assist maintenance staff with minor building or exterior repairs when needed, such as painting, trash pickup, or light maintenance tasks.
- Keep dumpster areas, storage spaces, and outdoor facilities clean, organized, and free of debris.
- Properly handle and store landscaping tools and equipment, ensuring they are in safe and efficient working condition.
- Adhere to all property, safety, and fair housing policies while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor with residents, staff, and vendors.
- Support the management team in maintaining the community’s curb appeal standards to ensure compliance with local inspections and agency requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or property maintenance—preferably in a Section 8 or Tax Credit apartment community.
- Knowledge of landscaping practices, lawn care, and outdoor maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ability to safely operate power tools and small machinery (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers).
- Dependable and self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform outdoor work, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to maintaining a respectful, community-oriented environment.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license may be required.
