This is more than a leadership role; it's an opportunity to build and lead a full-service urgent care hospital with the full backing of an established network. As the Founding Partner & Lead Veterinarian, you will be the cornerstone of the hospital, responsible for establishing a gold-standard medical culture, mentoring your team, and driving the business's success as a true owner.
You'll have the rare opportunity to build an urgent care hospital where demand for convenient, high-quality veterinary care with extended hours, full case workups, and surgery under one roof is backed by a dense, high-income trade area on Richmond's West End.
- Build a Thriving Practice Culture:
You will be the architect of a client-first, collaborative culture, setting the tone for medical excellence and teamwork from day one. In a community of busy professionals and devoted pet owners, your standard of care will set Livewell Henrico apart from day one including after hours, when pet owners most need a hospital, they can trust. - Lead and Mentor Your Medical Team:
Recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing team of veterinarians and support staff building a hospital culture that attracts top talent, staffs extended hours sustainably and delivers outstanding urgent care to the growing pet-owning communities of Henrico's West End, Glen Allen, Short Pump, and beyond. - Drive Medical and Surgical Excellence:
Establish the hospital's standard of care, ensuring every patient receives exceptional medicine from urgent case workups and diagnostics through surgery while mentoring your team in general surgery, dentistry, and evidence-based clinical decision-making. You'll build a reputation as the trusted urgent care and surgical destination for pets across Henrico and greater Richmond. - Partner in Business Ownership:
Work directly with your Hospital Manager to manage the hospital's financial performance (including staffing for extended hours), making strategic decisions that drive top-line revenue growth and position the hospital as a long-term community resource. - Shape the Future of Veterinary Care in Henrico:
Help establish a purpose-built urgent care hospital designed to meet the needs of today's pet owners. With high foot traffic from a Publix-anchored center, immediate access to W. Broad Street and I-64, and visibility from a road carrying 34,000 vehicles per day, you'll have the platform to build something that lasts.

The Livewell Model
Each Livewell location is carefully selected based on strong demographic, market, and growth data, to give each Founding hire and the hospital the best chance for long-term success. Livewell Animal Urgent Care of Henrico will be located at Westpark Shopping Center, the West End's premier grocery-anchored center in Henrico County, Virginia. As a Livewell Animal Urgent Care, the hospital is a full-service hospital with extended hours, where our veterinarians work up cases and perform surgery giving pet owners a trusted place to go when they need care beyond a typical weekday appointment.
The location sits in the heart of a high-income, densely populated suburban area with a strong daytime population. You will serve a client base that needs care before and afterwork and on the weekends. Henrico County, home to roughly 343,000 residents, wraps around the west, north, and east sides of Richmond, Virginia's capital city. It is a major employment center offering a population with the spending power and lifestyle to support premium veterinary care.
