Position: AE - Merchandising Team Leader (Assistant Manager)

Overview

As the full‑time Merchandising Team Leader you are the Store Team Leader’s "go‑to" in developing and implementing the merchandising strategy for the store. Your passion lies in training and coaching your team into great merchants delivering AEO brand visual standards every day. Through your leadership, your team nails floorset execution, rocks merchandising and marketing brand standards, and ensures the store is always “guest ready” through effective replenishment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead sales by maximizing fitting‑room and sales‑floor productivity and building guest loyalty through a best‑in‑class guest experience. Contribute to the store’s financial success by analyzing reporting and daily trends to make strategic business decisions.
  • Mentor your team to deliver an outstanding guest experience, uphold AEO brand standards, and lead day‑to‑day merchandising, sell‑through adjustments and replenishment.
  • Motivate and inspire your team through AEO’s core values, hold them accountable to customer‑service standards, especially on the sales floor and in the fitting room.
  • Recruit, hire and develop strong talent, providing training and ongoing performance feedback through coaching, touch‑bases, development plans and performance reviews.
  • Innovate daily operational procedures, support visual standards across all zones, and ensure the fitting rooms are always guest‑ready and meet AEO brand standards.
  • Maintain store safety, asset protection and compliance with all policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Love AE and Aerie products.
  • Previous retail management experience, including leadership of a team.
  • Strong multi‑tasking, attention to detail, priority‑setting and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop teams and basic knowledge of employment law.
  • Business acumen.
  • Flexible availability to work hours that match guest traffic.
