Position Overview

Title: Security Guard - Armed Government Patrol

Location: Surry, VA

Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $18.25 / Hour

Schedule: Day Time (Sat 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM, Sun 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM)

A part-time security officer assisting government facilities with patrol duties, requiring an armed guard license.

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site‑specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, using de‑escalation skills when necessary.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and control entry and exit of individuals and/or vehicles according to site protocols.
• Maintain detailed records and logs of activities, incidents, and observations during each shift.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and other personnel.
• Carry assigned firearm and other security-related equipment in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Participate in ongoing training and drills to remain prepared for emergency response situations specific to the government environment.

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Valid armed guard card or license.
• Aged 21 or older (armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation and drug screening as required by law.
• Participation in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only (not applicable to this role).
