As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrols in Surry, VA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government. This part‑time position offers the flexibility to build a schedule that works for you using our Claim a Shift platform. You will monitor and patrol designated government locations, remaining highly visible to deter security‑related incidents and provide peace of mind to those on site. Your responsibilities include routine patrols, incident response, and outstanding customer service while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and innovation.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $18.25 / Hour

Job Schedule: Wednesday 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM, Thursday 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM, Friday 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with problem‑solving skills, utilizing appropriate protocols for armed patrol personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to deter unauthorized activities and observe for unusual conditions.
• Maintain a visible presence throughout assigned areas to deter unwanted activity and provide a sense of security.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas, reporting suspicious persons or activities to appropriate authorities.
• Follow all protocols for armed security posts, including proper handling and control of assigned equipment.
• Complete required reports and documentation related to patrol activities, incidents, and observations in a timely manner.
• Work collaboratively with local law enforcement and emergency responders as directed by site‑specific policies.

• At least 6 months of security experience.
• Armed guard card or license.
• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participation in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required only for driving positions.
