Competitively paid with great benefits. VPU is currently accepting applications for a Lineworker position. Qualified candidates must have started an Apprenticeship program; preference is given to those near the end of their Apprenticeship Program or who have Journeyman status.
Responsibilities- Installs, maintains and repairs underground distribution and service lines.
- Repairs, maintains, and installs power lines, street lighting, service connections, etc.
- Installs new transformers, air switches, and reclosures.
- Climbs power poles to make inspections, installations, and repairs in inclement weather.
- Assists in the construction of substations.
- Answers trouble calls.
- Performs other related work as assigned.
